How To Uninstall an Application
All TFPSoft products that run on Windows operating systems include
an uninstaller utility. An uninstaller allows you to safely remove (or "uninstall") an
application from your computer if you decide that you no longer wish to use it.
You can start the program uninstaller by clicking on the Uninstall icon in the
application's program group on your Start menu. You can also start the program uninstaller
by using the Add\Remove Programs tool in the Windows Control Panel. Some applications,
such as screen savers, do not create a program group therefore they do not have an
Uninstall icon. You must uninstall these applications by using Add\Remove Programs.
This guide will teach you how to uninstall an application using Add\Remove Programs.
1. Close the application
The computer generally won't let you delete an application while you are using it...
to do so could be disastrous. Before you attempt to remove an application, make sure that
you close any copies you are running.
2. Open Control Panel
On most Windows operating systems, you will find the Control Panel icon on your system
Start menu. It can also be found by clicking on My Computer.
3. Double-click Add\Remove Programs
Find the Add\Remove Programs icon in the Control Panel and double-click it to start
the Add\Remove Programs tool.
4. Select the application you want to remove
Look at the list of programs you have installed, and click on the name of the program
you don't want any more to highlight it. After you have highlighted the name of the application
you wish to remove, click the Add\Remove button.
5. Confirm that you wish for the application to be removed
A dialog should appear confirming that you wish to uninstall the selected application. If
you are sure that you don't want the application any more, click Yes. Remember, once you have
uninstalled an application, you won't be able to use it anymore unless you reinstall it.
Make sure that you have an alternate way to read any personal data files that are important
to you before you remove the application that created them from your hard disk.
Depending on the application, the uninstaller may ask you some additional questions. If so,
carefully follow the instructions on your screen to finish the uninstallation process.
The application should now be safely removed from your computer!
